Odette England created the series, Thrice Upon a Time. In which she destroyed negatives that she took of her childhood home, a farm. This could be from her having certain memories from whilst she was living there that she wanted to portray through this series. She destroyed them by having them stuck to the bottom of her shoes and going about her usual daily activities, which then eroded part of the negative to create the effect on each image.
In lesson we destroyed a piece of unused film to try to create a similar effect to what Odette England did, only our film strip didn't have images on them.
I did this by rubbing the dull side of the film strip against the almost sand-paper texture of the grip on the stairs at college. This created grey shades as well as streaks from where the stair grip eroded the film emulsion.
